Fish restaurant in Milan, Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine
In Milan, in the Navigli district, there is an address where fish is transformed into a story. The Antica Osteria del Mare is a fish restaurant in Milan that selects the best of the catch every day, creating a seafood cuisine that goes far beyond simple catering. Deep Sardinian roots, Mediterranean technique and absolute respect for the raw material: these are the three elements that make every visit an authentic and always different experience. An award that also came from the Michelin Guide, which included the restaurant among the quality signs of the Lombard capital.
Our Story
It all started in 1961 with a suitcase, a one-way ticket from Arbus, in the province of Cagliari, and an extraordinary determination. Salvatore Pili arrived in Milan at a young age, learned the trade between the stoves of the best restaurants in the Lombard capital and in 1979 he opened his own in Piazza Sant'Ambrogio with La Carbonaia Mare, building year after year a relationship of trust with an increasingly loyal clientele.
In 2006, the Antica Osteria del Mare was founded in Via Ascanio Sforza 105: seventy-five seats, Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine, raw materials chosen every morning with the same care as on the first day.
Who we are
At the Antica Osteria del Mare, every dish comes from a precise choice: to bring to the table only what the sea offers in its best form. The raw counter offers oysters, hedgehogs, crab, sea truffles and mixed crudités, while the kitchen processes the fish on the grill, in a pan and with the combinations most rooted in the island's tradition.
Sardinian specialties tell the story of the island through carasau bread, mullet botargo and seadas with myrtle. The fish menu follows the season and changes to always enhance the freshest product, while the wine list accompanies each course with carefully chosen Sardinian, Vernaccia and Italian white labels.
